A group of accounting students from Qatar University had their firm visit in our Mazars Qatar office. The purpose of the trip is to help bridge the gap between education and hands-on experience and to appreciate the importance and relevance of what they are learning.
The students were accompanied by Mr. Hatem Elsafty, GRIC partner and Ms. Heba Tawfik, Mazars partner, who gave welcome speech and enlightened students on the culture of living and working in Mazars. Mr. Ahmed Ali, our senior auditor, presented basics on services we provided in Qatar.
All students found the firm visit very helpful, especially now that they will have to consider their future career pathways.
Very exciting day today. Our IT auditors Dindo Geron and Salman Younus conducted training today November 23 2017 at Mazars Qatar office for our financial auditors how to conduct an IT General Controls (ITGC) audit for their clients. Hopefully our auditors gained knowledge to conduct IT General Controls audit by themselves.
The second part of this training was about audit programs and other working papers and methodologies used in conducting an IT General Controls audit.
Dindo Geron, IT Audit Manager, explains how to use easy-to-remember passphrase instead of regular, hard-to-remember passwords to improve security.
Another topic was about multi-factor authentication techniques and tools to create a layered defense and make it more difficult for an unauthorized person to access account such as business email.
And lastly, we discussed about what are the business email Do's and Don'ts; how to be more organized and productive in using the business email.
